Examination Scheme and Syllabus:
The Combined Graduate Level Recruitment will be conducted through the following three stages:
a) Preliminary Examination : All candidates applied for any post (s) under the Combined Graduate Level 2014 will be required to appear in the Combined Graduate Level (Preliminary) Examination, 2014. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained by them in this examination, Post-wise, depending on the number of vacancies for respective post, for appearing in the Combined Graduate Level (Mains) Examination, 2014 / Interview.

1. General Knowledge (Physics / Chemistry / Biology / History / Geography / Civis / National GK / International GK / State and Current Affairs / Art & Culture / Sports / Abbreviation / Computer / Test of Reasoning) - Total Question 50 - Total Marks - 50
2. English ( Comprehension / Grammar / Sentence Corrections / Synonyms & Antonyms / Spelling / Idioms / Phrases) - Total Question - 55 Total Marks 55
3. Mathematics (Average / Ratio & Proportion / Persentage / simple Interest / Profit & Loss / Time and Distance and Time and Work / Trigonometry & Geometry / Mensuration)- Total Question - 30 Total Marks - 45
b) Mains Examination: i) Candidates applied either for the post of Research Investigator or for Fishery Extension Officer or for both are to be shortlisted, Post-wise and Category / Sub Category wise, on the basis of marks secured by them in the Preliminary Examination and depending on the vacancy for the concerned post, for respective Category / Sub Category. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to appear directly in the Interview. There will be no separate Mains Examination for these two posts.
ii) Whereas, Candidates applied either for the post of Inspector, Backward Classes Welfare or for Minority Development Officer or for both are to be shortlisted, Post-wise and Category / Sub Category wise, on the basis of marks secured by them in the Preliminary Examination and depending on the vacancy for the concerned post, for respective Category / Sub Category. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to appear in the Combined Graduate Level (Mains) Examination, 2014.
# Syllabus for main Examination : (Descriptive)
Language Proficiency Test : i) English Precis Writing - 25 ii) Report Writing - 25 iii) Essay writing in any of the following language : (English / Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali / Santali) - 25 Marks iv) Letter Writing in any of the following language- (English / Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali / Santali) - 25 Marks
Total 100 marks Time alloted- 2 hours (120 Minutes)
c) Interview :
i) For the Post of Inspector Backward Classes Welfare and / or Minority Development Officer, Candidates shortlisted on the basis of total marks obtained by them in Preliminary and Mains Examination will only be asked to appear in the Interview, to be conducted Post-wise.
ii) Whereas for the Post of Fishery Extension Officer and / or Research Investigator, Candidates shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained by them in Preliminary Examination will only be asked to appear in the Interview, to be conducted Post-wise.
